Response 4 | How class became routine after the first few presentations |
Response 5 | the convenience of being able to log on and work when i had time. |
Response 6 | I liked that Laulima a was more streamlined and standardized page like a forum, as I thought the worst part about webCT was the way each page was designed differently. |
Response 7 | I took a hybrid course. Which means that It was half online but LAB in class. Which means that I got to see my fellow classmates every Saturday. It wasn't too distant when you get to see your professor once a week. The good part of the class is that it offered an opportunity for busy moms to be able to take human anatomy physiology and be able to have a time slot for in the in class lab. I was thankful for the Saturday class because it allowed me to take 5 science courses without a time conflict. |
Response 8 | The flexibility with time and my schedule. Great for people who work many hours or have busy schedules. |
Response 9 | - convenient, easy to use |

Response 28 | |
Response 29 | I liked the opportunity to be able to study from home. I am a very busy fulltime working parent of two children. I took a hybrid class where I met on campus for ZOOL 240 lab on Saturdays and the lecture portion of the course was taught via the internet and self-study. My instructor had her office hours before/after class. I am dissappointed to hear that the hybrid course may not be offered anymore. It is for people like me, hard working, self-motivated students who are working toward a nursing degree and we need the flexibility to be able to do so with our studies. |

Response 44 | |
Response 45 | |
Response 46 | convenience |
Response 47 | Since I am a self motivational person. Having distance education is really awesome because I actually have more time to go over my work and not being rushed through a regular in-class atmoshpere. An example is when the class period is over the students are barging in and I find my self screaming over their voices to speak to my instructor. In a distance education I have a more one to one communication with my instructor. If I do not understand a problem I have several things that I can do: email, post a comment in Laulima, or a live chat on skype during the instructors business hours. The distance education is the way to go! Thank you |
Response 48 | It is very convenient! It was also extremely easy to navigate. I like having the links in the left column for each classes (ex. HOME,GRADEBOOK). I would definately recommend it to anyone interested! |

Response 62 | Opens door for self motivated learning. |
Response 63 | The course was a bit thin but it gave me more time to accomplish other things. |
Response 64 | Well, since this was my first course taken online I must say that it went very well. I didn't come across too many problems with Laulima, but would have liked it to maybe get mobile alerts when new assignments or announcements are made, that way i get a reminder letting me know the deadline of assignments or other things. but overall i liked this course. Since it was primarily a computer course it was easier to complete, but i don't know how i would feel if it was a different course. |

Response 66 | The freedom to do work more or less on my own. |

That is why the Distance Learning Courses are so important to me. |

This helps me keep track of my progress and accomplishments in class (ICS 100). I like the the "Discussion and Private Message" menu, especially when I was able to communicate quickly with instructor and classmates on class assignments and projects. The "Schedule" menu was even helpful for me to keep track and to meet deadlines of my assignments and quiz/test. The "Announcement" and "Discussion" menus were clearly written and extremely helpful. Thank you. |
Response 113 | not having to fight traffic to go to class. can study on my own time. |

Response 167 | I appreciate the flexiblity to do the work when I have time. The course had deadlines but there were several days in which to do the assignments or take the quizzes. Response 176 | The convenience and flexibility. As a full-time working adult and transportation difficulty, I appreciate the UH system having distance learning courses available instead of enrolling at a mainland school. My work schedule fluctuates and sometimes I have two jobs as well as my husband has the only car so I generally am at work from 5:30 am until 5:00 pm. Because I am also enrolled in a MBA program, Tuesday evenings are the longest from 5:30 am until my class ends at 10 pm. The faculty at LCC has been very helpful, supportive and understanding. Response 484 | Distance education is very convenient. Saves time and gas, especially at this time of economy. As a working mother it is very convenient, I am very thankful that distance education has been designe, it is a great opportunity for me to pursue my dreams/studies and goals and not giving up my work and have time for my children. I really recommend online classes. It's the best, since not too much classes are offered in the late afternoons ( I don't know why, but if you notice LCC have a lot of classes during the day and then few late afternoon classes.) LCC should come up with more classes online, to encourage a lot of students, mothers or anyone to proceed and go back to school, pursue their education for a better opportunity. Please have more classes online. I think that the classes offered now are not enough to cater a lot of students who are in need of the distance education courses. It works for me and I know that it works for anybody. |
